The Food…
Wherever you go in the world food is prepared and made in a completely new way. Even if you were to have a lasagne in England and then have one in Italy; it would taste differently. With this said; one thing you’ll find evident during your stay in Mauritius, is that every dish is almost the opposite of what you’d be likely to find in England. There are numerous cuisines, and thanks to this, the ethnic mix of food is more diverse than anything. It is hard to say what style of food is most commonly found in Mauritius, as there are multiple kinds. Overall, if you want a different feel to your food every time you sit down to eat then Mauritius is the place for you.

The festivals here, as you’d expect, are full of life and simply cannot be matched elsewhere. The music is loud, everyone is in good spirits, the people are dressed extravagantly, and faces full of fun make up. The entire occasion is based upon having fun and not caring about anything momentarily. It is a great excuse to really let loose and do whatever you like (within reason) for a few days.
The music really does compliment the festivals; but there is more to the music than just the festival. Mauritius has its own Sega sound with roots right back to the 18th century.
