Tunisia boasts some of the World’s Greatest Sites

We all have the same questions at the forefront of our mind when deciding where to go on holiday. Where is different? What will actually be there that wouldn’t be elsewhere, what is there to do throughout the day to make the holiday special, and what memories can be made there that couldn’t be made somewhere else?

We have picked out the best location to answer all of those needs for you, Tunisia. It is for certain with Tunisia that everything you do and see there will be completely unique to anywhere else.

You might be wondering how on earth this is possible; surely not all the things you see are completely different to anywhere else? Well this should help to explain why this is so; if you wish to find out what makes this place so different then please read on.

Bardo Museum…

Been to a museum before? Bored of the seeing the same things in them? Well the Bardo Museum isn’t just any museum; there’s much more to it than that. The building itself could be found in a museum, the atmosphere created from the traditional beauty of the architecture is worth experiencing on its own.

This museum is known worldwide now, and deservedly so. International reputation is only achieved through earning it, and that is just what’s happened here. There are some of the most beautiful mosaics shown throughout along with numerous historic sculptures. All in all, this makes for a spectacular place to visit and is considered something you MUST do when visiting Tunisia.

Dougga & The El Djem…

If you were looking for somewhere to see that would make a good addition to your camera collection then this is definitely the place for you. This site which is presumed to have once been a theatre is understood to have been around as early as 168 AD.

The El Djem is probably the most favourable of tours in Tunisia, it’s the one that always manages to find itself in the holiday brochures, and with this being one of the best preserved historic building around the reputation is has gained is well deserved.  You are able to walk up to as high as the third tier, whilst also being able to venture into the underground and get a real feel for how things might have been on.

With this said, these are two of Tunisia’s proudest attractions. These places really do underline what kind of things you might find in Tunisia and the originality that comes with that.

Kairouan, Matmata & the Ksour…

The kairouan is probably not visited often enough by travellers and this is a real shame. This is ridiculous as this is considered the fourth most important city for Muslims, and the sights you’ll see throughout this city show just how much effort has gone into making this city special. If you like exploring different history and culture then this is definitely somewhere you have to visit.

Matmata and the Ksour is a superb place to visit, there simply is nowhere like this at all. Scenes of the star wars franchise were filmed here; and this of course means it attracts thousands of star wars fans each year. However, this place isn’t just known for that; the aesthetics are brilliant and you can even go underground to see more; this gives visitors the feeling of stepping back in time by hundreds of years.
